The Jones County School System announced at the June 2nd  Board of Education work session that all schools for the 2015-2016 school year will continue with the regular school hours and the school system will continue with the existing bus transportation routes.  The announcement states that no changes in school times or bus routes will occur during the 2015-2016 school year.

Title I, Part A is a part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). This act provides federal funds through the Georgia Department of Education to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high percentages of poor children to help ensure that all children meet challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards.

Gray Elementary is a School Wide Title I school in Jones County.

Gray Elementary School is not a Focus, Priority, or Alert School as defined by GaDOE's Accountability Waiver.

Student Registration


Student registration is taken at each elementary school.

Registration Times: 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:00-2:30 p.m., daily

Please bring the following documents, required for registration:



    • Certified Birth Certificate
    • Social Security Card
    • Immunization Record on Form 3231
    • Eye, Ear, and Dental Screening Form
    • Meet the acceptable proof of residency requirements

Kindergarten students must be 5 years old before September 1, 2015.

The Jones County School System is proud of the professional credentials of its teaching staff and will furnish to you, upon request, the professional qualifications of any of your child's classroom teachers. This includes information concerning the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher is certified, the major fields and degrees held by the teacher, and the qualifications of any paraprofessional who provides services to your child.
